I was a member of the work crew for the 1976 Hill Cumorah Pageant and I too slept in the Wind Tunnel. Howeve our facilities were not nearly as nice as they are now. In 1976 we walked up the road from the Wind Tunnel to the food building for all of our meals. Do they still have the work crew eat there? There were three sisters (LDS sisters not genetic sisters) that were called to serve as the cooks for the time we were back there and they prepared all of our meals. While we were serving there I had my birthday (July 24th) and Elder Bruce R. McConkie happened to be touring the facilities on that day. He came up to the food building and had a slice of my birthday cake. Serving on the Hill Cumorah Pageant work crew was one of the highlights of my life. I'm now 62, a returned missioinary, a father of 5 sons, a husband of 40 years, and currently serving as a bishop, and I still look back with fondness on my six weeks serving at the Hiull Cumorah. Great site--thanks for the pics. We too wore blue t-shirts!!!
